Staying at this resort was a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Unlike other properties I frequented in Thailand, here it is easy to understand that the owners invest a lot in the constant maintenance of rooms, gardens and equipment on the beach. So, no beach beds with ugly plastic coverings, signs of humidity and rust, bad smells, tired bed mattresses bristling with springs and so on. Everything is perfect and made having in mind good taste (the interior architecture of the villas, Cape Cod style, is bright), comfort (starting from the bed mattresses) and functionality. Another peculiarity, very rare, is that at Outrigger the management is present, visible, attentive, and not barricaded in some office. The staff is motivated, competent and kind, the barman is a good connoisseur of western cocktails. Excellent and rich breakfast. Lunch and dinner menu also includes non-Thai specialties and is translated into well-crafted dishes that can be enjoyed by candlelight on the beach. For families with small children (here numerous and not always polite) there is also a children's playroom with dedicated nannies and a large shallow pool.

The Outrigger is really a top hotel! One of the best we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many 4 and 5 star hotels around the world. The service is exceptional. The staff is so friendly and they fulfill every wish! The hotel facilities and rooms are very good. The food is really very good. The hotel is also great for families. We were there with our 3 year old and 6 month old daughter and my mother. There is a kids club. The room is lovingly furnished with wooden toys. The caregivers were so nice and sweet to our kids. Were able to drop them off with a clear conscience. They also made great things together. What we also liked very much that it is not too touristy where the hotel is located. You have your peace and quiet here. We traveled afterwards to Koh Lanta in a 5 star hotel, which was twice as expensive. The rooms, the staff, the kids club, the food etc. was all worse than at the Outrigger. I really recommend the Outrigger Hotel to everyone.The hotel is really unique good. We will be happy to come back! :-).

I like the staff at the breakfast who always smiling , especially Wish who was doing everything possible for the guests. There was a lot of choice for every guest taste and to start the day. The swimming pool was always clean, but from time to time crowded with kids . Also, we enjoyed to spend time near the beach, as many transats were available. Staff at the pool was helpful with the weather forecast...actually with wet season around, you have to be ready to run to a shelter within 5 min, the rain can be soudain and strong. I will say that you have to be careful while swimming in the ocean, it can be rough and even dangerous at time with high tides. Nature is all around the place as well, and all gardens are well maintained. Perfect place to see beautiful sunset too! We also really loved the Spa, with the 2 professional therapists! I went 5 times in 2 weeks!

We chose Khao Lak because it is supposed to be quiet and unspoilt and we didn't want to be at a party resort. The hotel is in a lovely position right on the beach with spectacular sunsets. The pool is a great size and if you are there early in the morning you can sometimes be the only one there. We only had breakfast a few times but there was a good choice. The staff are wonderful in this hotel. The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Another bonus was the great small beach shack type restaurants within easy reach of the hotel if you fancied eating out of the hotel
